Meet Our Faculty

Gigi Jacome, Kindergarten Teacher/Director 

Gigi_newTeacher Gigi graduated from Utah State State University in 2000 with a Liberal Arts and Science degree with an emphasis in science. She has been at Morningside School for over 10 years.  Gigi’s love of teaching young children lead her to begin the alternate route to licensure through the Utah Department of Education. She was a kindergarten aide at Ellis Elementary and has taught Kindergarten at Bridger Elementary and Morningside School. Gigi loves to travel, ride horses and go hiking with her husband Oscar, and their children, Antonio, Carmen, Maria and Maya.

Janet Reeve, AM & PM Preschool Teacher

FullSizeRender-1Teacher Janet graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math and Science and has taught in several schools throughout Cache Valley, including a head teacher at another preschool.  A mother of 5 children, and 3 grandchildren, Janet has a love for children, and their successful development.  She loves incorporating music into learning and plays the guitar and piano.  She collects children’s books.  She is an avid photographer, crafter, scrap-booker, and loves spending time with the family at Lake Powell and in the Mountains.

Jessica McCormick, AM Preschool Teacher

Teacher Jessica has her CDA and  has been teaching children for over 6 years. She has a passion for teaching and giving her students the best start to their education. She also believes a child who sings is a happy child and only wants the best environment for children to learn. When she isn’t teaching she is spending as much time outside with her 4  children as she can! She is from Cache Valley and also loves baking and candy making.

Katie Flores, PM Preschool Teacher

katie floresTeacher Katie is working on her Early Childhood Development degree at USU.  Having been a Morningside graduate herself, Katie knows firsthand the priceless lessons taught at Morningside.  Katie is committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. In her spare time Katie enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, and snowmobiling.


Carol Gackstetter, Volunteer Kindergarten Aide and Substitute

carolTeacher Carol, a retired early educator, has volunteered at Morningside School for the past seven years, every Tuesday and Thursday, in our Kindergarten classroom! She has a hilariously dry sense of humor — and always has a story to tell!  We are grateful for her dedication and feel so lucky to have her as a part of our team!
