Amber Wiedmeier, Director
Teacher Amber is a Cache Valley native that graduated from Utah State University in 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in Family, Consumer, & Human Development with a double emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Family & Community Services. She was a head Preschool Teacher at Morningside School for three years and this will be her fourth year as the School Director. Amber loves play-based learning and letting children get messy as they discover the world around them. She is passionate about music and dance and feels that they are a crucial part of making learning fun. Amber finds her greatest joys in life spending time with her loved ones and feels so blessed to be a Mother.
Gigi Jacome, Kindergarten Teacher/Assistant Director
Teacher Gigi graduated from Utah State State University in 2000 with a Liberal Arts and Science degree with an emphasis in science. She has been at Morningside School for over 9 years. Gigi’s love of teaching young children lead her to begin the alternate route to licensure through the Utah Department of Education. She was a kindergarten aide at Ellis Elementary and has taught Kindergarten at Bridger Elementary and Morningside School. Gigi loves to travel, ride horses and go hiking with her husband Oscar, and their children, Antonio, Carmen, Maria and Maya.
Janet Reeve, Head Preschool Teacher
Teacher Janet graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math and Science and has taught in several schools throughout Cache Valley, including a head teacher at another preschool. A mother of 5 children, and 3 grandchildren, Janet has a love for children, and their successful development. She loves incorporating music into learning and plays the guitar and piano. She collects children’s books. She is an avid photographer, crafter, scrap booker, and loves spending time with the family at Lake Powell and in the Mountains.
Jessica McCormick, AM Assistant Preschool Teacher
Teacher Jessica has her CDA and has been teaching children for over 5 years. She has a passion for teaching and giving them the best start to their education. She also believes a child who sings is a happy child and only wants the best environment for children to learn. When she isn’t teaching she is spending as much time outside with her 4 children as she can! She is from Cache Valley and also loves baking and candy making.
Katie Flores, PM Assistant Preschool Teacher
Teacher Katie is working on her Early Childhood Development degree at USU. Having been a Morningside graduate herself, Katie knows firsthand the priceless lessons taught at Morningside. Katie is excited to join a team of amazing and creative teachers, and is committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. In her spare time Katie enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, and snowmobiling.
Carol Gackstetter, Volunteer Kindergarten Aide and Substitute
Teacher Carol, a retired early educator, has volunteered at Morningside School for the past six years, every Tuesday and Thursday, in our Kindergarten classroom! She has a hilariously dry sense of humor — and always has a story to tell! We are grateful for her dedication and feel so lucky to have her as a part of our team!

Rachel Harward, 60 Hours
Rachel is a senior at Utah State University and will graduate in May of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Consumer Sciences Education. She loves teaching all ages and is excited to one day teach her favorite subject of child and human development. She is excited to be at Morningside Preschool and believes she will gain many skills and learning opportunities as she experiences the play-based learning. Her hobbies include playing soccer and piano, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family.
