Meet Our Faculty
Jacqueline Gauthier, Director
Teacher Jacqui studied Social Work at Eastern Mennonite University and serves as the Director for Morningside School. Both her children, Madeline and Caleb have attended Morningside School for Preschool and Kindergarten. In addition to her work at the school, Jacqui is the coordinator for a photographic advocacy project titled, Evidence and Artifacts: Facing Autism in collaboration with her husband, Utah State University Assistant Professor of Art, Christopher M. Gauthier. She is active as an advocate for children on the autism spectrum, and frequently speaks at regional and national autism conferences. Jacqui loves to read, paint, and during the summer months would rather be in the back country than anywhere else on earth.
Marie Morgan, Assistant Director & AM Kindergarten Teacher
Teacher Marie graduated from Utah State University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She is certified in elementary education, as well as early childhood education. She has been at Morningside School for 18 years and taught kindergarten specifically 10 years. Marie believes that a kindergarten classroom should be a fun, happy, and safe place, physically and emotionally. She hopes that years down the road, her students will remember that they had a kindergarten teacher who loved them, even if they don’t remember her name. Marie’s hobbies include sewing, cooking, reading, singing, and playing the piano. If she wasn’t a teacher, she would be a pastry chef or work in a quilt shop or needlework store. Marie lives in Millville with her husband, Rick, and together they have four adult children and three grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and LOVES being a grandma!
Gigi Jacome, PM Kindergarten Teacher & Summer Staff
Teacher Gigi graduated from Utah State State University in 2000 with a Liberal Arts and Science degree with an emphasis in science. She has been at Morningside School for over 5 years. Gigi’s love of teaching young children lead her to begin the alternate route to licensure through the Utah Department of Education. She has been a kindergarten aide at Ellis Elementary and has taught Kindergarten at Bridger Elementary and Morningside School. Gigi loves to travel, ride horses and go hiking with her husband Oscar, and their children, Antonio, Carmen, Maria and Maya.
Teacher Amber is a Cache Valley Native that graduated from Utah State University in 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in Family, Consumer, & Human Development with a double emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Family & Community Services. She taught at Morningside for one year before her husband’s job with the Army moved them to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. For the last year, she has been a full time Preschool teacher for Community Partnership for Child Development; teaching in both Head Start and Colorado Preschool Program classrooms. She says she can’t wait to get back to small town life and teach at “the cutest preschool ever!” Amber loves teaching children the basics of their education that they will build upon and use forever—even if they don’t remember who taught it to them. She loves music and dance and incorporates that into her daily classroom routine. Amber loves to spend time with her loved ones, especially her husband Peter, and her hobbies include: dancing, running, baking, hiking and camping.
